This project is a design of the Asakusa shop of the long-established shop “NANIWAYA” of TAIYAKI which has a head office in Azabu-juban. It was a renovation of an old wooden building. I decided to take into a design what were there once, for example a pillar and a reinforcement beam which cannot be removed on structure, and a small door which leads to the back of the shop. Edo KARAKAMI which is called as the “Korin wave” is used for the center of a store. The reddish brown of the decomposed granite soil of a floor which makes red bean paste consider, the beige color of the sand wall which makes the skin of TAIYAKI consider, the green of a counter which makes powdered green tea consider were arranged. Though color and gloss are heterogeneous, the whole space is generously covered for the material with warmth.
